Both are available. An analysis is first conducted to determine the thickness of the design, whether in low- or high-relief, according to a number of variables.

Is it possible to engrave any type of cap?
Sorry, no. It all depends on the thickness and mass of the cap.

Does the cap need to be in a specific type of material to be engraved?
Any material except wood may be engraved.
